Jazz Tribute to 1959: The Year That Changed Jazz
With Music Director Colleen Allen
featuring:
Tara Davidson – alto saxophone
William Sperandei – trumpet
Adrean Farrugia – piano
Ben Wittman – drums
Ticketed Event ($50)

About the concert:
“1959 was arguably the most creative year in all of jazz history. Many of the contributions we now consider to be jazz “classics” all happened around the same time. Four of the major albums released in 1959 include: Kind of Blue (Miles Davis); Mingus Ah Um (Charles Mingus); Time Out (Dave Brubeck Quartet); Giant Steps (John Coltrane).

Explore these major jazz albums and contributions of 1959 through a special Sound of Jazz evening featuring—music from the year that changed jazz.”
